Conference Registration and Fees

Register for the conference online via the “Conference Registration” tab. Please ensure to provide the required information including flight information and any dietary requirements. The registration deadline is August 5th, 2018.

Delegate Fee: $500 CAD

All delegates are responsible for their own transportation costs, accommodation costs and any meals not included in the program.  There are no separate fees for leisure activities provided by the Ontario Branch.  The additional registration fee of $500 CAD has been set to offset a part of the cost of hosting the Conference.

Fees are payable by cash at the registration desk at the hotel, or by cheque payable to: Legislative Assembly of Ontario. You may also pay via electronic fund transfer (EFT) with the reference code: SOCATT conference 0104 6310.  Note: credit cards are not accepted

ATM and Currency Exchange

There is an ATM at the hotel and another one located across the street from the hotel. There are also several currency exchange desks at Toronto Pearson International Airport, and a currency exchange located within a 15-min walk of the hotel (https://www.interchangefinancial.com)

Travel Requirements to Canada

Most people need a visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada. Some people may only need their valid passport. Check the following link to see the specific requirements for traveling to Canada from your own country: https://www.canada.ca/en/

Accommodation

The conference hotel is the Radisson Admiral Hotel Toronto-Harbourfront, 249 Queens Quay West, Toronto, Ontario. The deadline for hotel reservations is August 5th, 2018 to ensure the group rate pricing ($325/night, single occupancy) and availability.  Delegates are responsible for the cost of their room, taxes and incidental costs.  Reserve your hotel room via the “Hotel Reservations” tab.

Parking

Underground parking is available at the hotel at an overnight rate of $26 (plus HST) for self-parking per day, with unlimited “in and out” privileges.

Arrivals

The official arrival day is Tuesday, September 4th, 2018.  A registration desk will be available in the afternoon at the hotel, and on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 from 7:00 am to 10:00 am in the Admiral Ballroom Foyer.

Transportation Options

The Greater Toronto area has two airports – one on the city’s outskirts and one downtown, as follows:

  1. Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), located 40 km from downtown Toronto, is approximately 40 minutes by car to the hotel.
  2. Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), located near downtown Toronto, is approximately 15 minutes by car to the hotel.

On Tuesday, September 4th, conference staff from the Legislative Assembly of Ontario will be available to welcome you on arrival, at both Toronto airports, to facilitate your transportation to the hotel.  Look for the ‘Society of Clerks-at-the-Table’ signs or call 416-325-7500 if you are unable to find them.

Note: It is important that you provide your travel information, including airline, flight number, departure city and arrival time in Toronto, on your registration form. If your travel information is not yet confirmed, please email it to: assemblyprotocol@ola.org as soon as it is available.

Business Sessions

Business sessions will take place at the hotel on Wednesday, September 5th, in the Admiral Ballroom. On Thursday, September 6th, business sessions will take place at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.  Transportation will be provided.

Dietary and Special Requirements

Please indicate your dietary and/or special requirements on the registration form.  We will make every effort to accommodate you if notified in advance. 

Identification

Delegates and guests must wear their conference identification at all business sessions and events.

Dress Attire

Dress throughout the conference is business casual.

Networking Sessions

The Rain Dance Room in the hotel will serve as the networking session room for the conference.  Check your program for scheduled opening and closing times.

Gift Shop

The Legislative Assembly Gift Shop, located in lobby of the Legislative Building, offers a wide selection of unique gifts, souvenirs and exclusive items reflecting the heritage and culture of Ontario. The gift shop will be open on Thursday, September 6th from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Show your conference ID and receive a 20% discount on all purchases.
